Meet Nurse Sharon, a hemodialysis nurse who bravely took care of patients and put her life at risk during the pandemic. We were very fortunate to interview her amidst her busy schedule and were able to get a glimpse of how truly inspiring she is. In sharing her thoughts, we hope that you may be inspired by her.
1. What inspired you to be a nurse? As a nurse, I was inspired by different things in life that allow me to constantly grow, evolve, and become the best nurse that I can be for my patients.
2. What has been your most interesting or challenging or memorable experience during the pandemic that you would like to share with the world?
During this pandemic, I have put my life at risk to take care of our dialysis patients who have been infected with the Covid 19 virus. There are many reasons to feel fear and anxiety right now, but I have to be optimistic and hopeful. As scary as this is, I always think our patients are depending on us, our care, and our support to feel them better.
3. How did you overcome these challenges and what have you learned from them?
Meeting these challenges and with all these uncertainties in the workplace, I have to ask God's strength and courage to persevere and continue providing the utmost care and relieving my patients' suffering.
4. Any words of wisdom or inspiring messages you’d like to share related to pandemic or life in general?
We should always have faith in God, remove our fears, and strongly believe in ourselves that we can get through this together.
